SC Freiburg won with 1-2 against SC Paderborn last weekend, and were officially crowned as 2.Bundesliga champions. After just one season in the 2.Bundesliga they are returning back where they belong – in the German top flight football.

SC Freiburg were definitely a class above all teams in the second division this season. They won 21 of their 32 matches so far, and are currently unbeaten in six straight games.

SC Freiburg were also the most efficient team in the 2.Bundesliga, and set a record of 72 goals scored in 32 matches played so far.

Regarding their home form, SC Freiburg are currently on a series of five straight home victories. They were very dominant in their home games in the recent months, winning both at half-time and full time in seven of their latest nine home matches.

SC Freiburg will play without their defender Pascal Stenzel, who got sent off in the last match against SC Paderborn.

Heidenheim are comfortably sitting at the mid-table, free from any worries. This was a relatively solid season for them, as they were never in jeopardy of being dragged into relegation battle.

Heidenheim won with 0-2 against Greuther Furth last weekend and showed a decent performance. They lost just once in their last six 2.Bundesliga matches, drawing three times and winning twice.

Heidenheim also won two of their last six away matches, and were drawing and losing twice.
